FAQs When Renting a Hospital Bed

Q: Do I really need a hospital bed, I have a perfectly good bed?

A: If you or your loved one will be spending an extended amount of time in bed due to injury or for recovery a hospital bed will make it easier for you and your caregiver. The ability to raise and lower the height of the bed will make getting in and out of bed easier and safer.

Q: Can a hospital bed really be comfortable?

A: The ability to adjust the head and/or foot section of the bed with a touch of a button allows you to find the most comfortable position for you. Raising the head of the bed can ease shortness of breath or snoring, make it more comfortable for reading or eating in bed, and watching television. Raising the foot section can relieve leg swelling and assist in a more comfortable sitting position.

Q: Does Medicare pay for a hospital bed?

A: Medicare Part B covers hospital beds as DME (durable medical equipment) that your doctor prescribes for use in your home. However, BILD does NOT bill Medicare directly, we recommend you contact your Medicare provider to confirm coverage, in most cases you would have to pay for the rental and submit to Medicare for reimbursement.

A: Hospital bed rentals are available for short or long-term with no minimum rental period.

Q: What is your rental area?

A: Hospital bed rental with home delivery to Milwaukee, Waukesha, Madison, Racine, Kenosha

Q: Is the hospital bed fully assembled when it’s delivered?
