Joe Caravella, CAPS – Project Manager/co-owner
Joe has over 17 years of experience in the remodelling industry.  He is a graduate of Marquette University Joe and is owner of Caravella Paintworks and Caravella Designworks, LLC – a company that has demonstrated some of the finest workmanship and finishing work in the Milwaukee and Chicago areas.  Joe is comitted to quality craftsmanship, integrity, and customer service which has contributed to his stellar reputation.  Joe has also attended training conferences on aging in place and accessible remodeling.  Joe is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), and has attended numerous conferences such as the Kitchen and Bath industry Show, and International Homebuilders Show for the latest products for your home remodeling needs.

Rob Horkheimer, MPT, CAPS, CEAC, ECHM – Accessibility Specialist/co-owner
Rob graduated from Marquette University with a Masters in physical therapy.  Rob has over 10 years of experience as a physical therapist working with individuals with varied impairments.  Rob has earned the Executive Certificate in Home Modifications credential from the University of Southern California and has attended various continuing education opportunities on accessible home modifications.  Rob has performed extensive research into resources, services, and products out there to help promote wellness, independence and safety for individuals.  Rob has attended national conferences on remodeling and accessible equipment for the home, and also recently completed his Certified Aging in Place (CAPS) certification. Rob has also completed his certified environmental access consultant (CEAC) certification.

Russ DuQuaine – Project Manager
Russ is a master of many trades and has performed carpentry and woodwork since he was a boy. He has an incredible knowledge of creative materials and resources and has designed interactive displays for many children’s museum exhibits around the country, including the majority of Milwaukee’s own Betty Brinn museum. Russ was a business owner prior and has a experience in design, woodwork, carpentry, and construction. He also has performed independent study of accessibility and home modifications and has a wealth of knowledge about resources and solutions for accessible home designs.

Brian Drew, ASID – Interior Designer/Project Manager
Brian has a bachelor degree in psychology and human development, with additional background in painting, finish work, landscape design and color theory. He trained in environmental psychology looking at how people are affected by their home and work environments. Brian has an associate’s degree in interior design and worked for 4 years for Peabody’s Interiors, one of the higher end design firms in the Midwest. Brian has provided interior design work throughout Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. He describes his main design philosophy as modern with a focus on simplicity and symmetry, however he has worked with clients in all types of design aesthetics. Brian is ASID affiliated and summarizes his approach saying, “I always tell people that while I will always have opinions and a view on what I think the end product should be, my job is to make their home work for them. I don’t live there, so in the end I will do what I can to put the very best things in their home to make it work for them, and look great at the same time.”

Katie Horkheimer, OTR -Accessibility Specialist
Katie graduated from Mount Mary college with a professional degree in occupational therapy*.  Katie has worked since 2001 as a registered and licensed occupational therapist*.  Katie’s primary experience has been with rehabilitation of children with disabilities though she has experience with persons of all ages.  Katie has undergone numerous continuing education opportunities and training programs for accessible design as well as aging in place.  She has done extensive research in accessible remodeling and home modifications and is passionate, meticulous, and dedicated to accessible design for persons of all ages and needs.

Jason Geils – project manager
Jason Geils grew up in the Milwaukee area. He has been active in the field of contracting for over 15 years, starting off with roofing then framing new homes in the area. After framing homes for some time, he apprenticed as a high end painter for a number of years. In 2000, Jason began sub-contracting under some larger painting contractors and quickly began his own company named Argentum Fine Finishes where he managed accounts, ran crews, estimated projects, maintained payroll, enacted marketing plans etc. At the same time, Jason went to school at M.A.T.C. for early childhood education & computer networking. Though he enjoyed school and the possibility of moving onto a career in I.T., Jason decided to continue growing the business which continued to grow over the next few years. In 2006, Jason decided to fold Argentum and move to Majic Painting Inc. as a full time Estimator and Project Manager. In the summer of 2008, Jason whole heartedly made the decision to move to Caravella Paintworks and take a position as a full time Project Manager. He is excited to take his skills and enthusiasm into B.I.L.D. Jason enjoys the fact that B.I.L.D. provides a much necessary service. He is firmly committed to growing with the business and continuing to serve those in need.

Our organization values continued education and learning and regularly attend industry educational seminars, trade shows and conferences.  We hold memberships in the Metropolitan Builders Association, the National Association of Home Builders, Accessible Home Improvements of America, and have attended industry leading conference including: The International Homebuilder’s Show, National Kitchen and Bath Industry show, the Abilities Expo, Medtrade, and more.  We do this to remain current and ensure that we are providing the most current and practical solutions that will help you to acheive and remain independent in your home.

*Though BILD members do have a medical background we do not provide physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, or medical services to our clients.
