The Wauwatosa Public Library is proud to sponsor a series of informative presentations on improving the lives of seniors in the Milwaukee Area. There will be 3 informative sessions on wellness and improving your quality of life. Local Experts from the Milwaukee area will be speaking on the following topics:

Staying in Your Home: How to Remain Safe, Comfortable, Independent and Active – March 8th, 2-3pm

Now more than ever there are numerous new resources and products that make it easier to remain in your home. BILD’s accessibility experts Rob Horkheimer and Joe Caravella (from the Morning Blend) will discuss many options to make your home more beautiful, comfortable, and safe. Taking the Heart Healthy Attitude to the Kitchen – March 15th, 2-3pm

Did you know that eating healthy can also decrease your stress? Join us March 15th to learn how to cook a heart healthy meal that is simple and delicious. Our chef, Brenda Buchanan, RN will also discuss how stress affects the body in different ways.

Advance Directives Workshop – March 22nd, 2-3pm

National Healthcare Decision Day is April 16th, have you declared your Power of Attorney for Healthcare? Join us for an educational discussion about the importance of having an Advanced Directive. Have the opportunity to ask questions about and complete a document with a Licensed Social Worker from Vitas Innovative Hospice.

All workshops will be held at the Wauwatosa Public Library 7635 W North Avenue, Wauwatosa, WI on the first floor (enter the main floor past the check out desk).

Excitement is building for the Milwaukee NARI remodelers show coming up Thursday Feb 9 – Sunday Feb 12 at the Wisconsin State Fair Park. The upcoming show will feature runs: Thursday – Saturday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with tickets $6 in advance and $8 at the door. Seniors are $6 at the door, and $4 on Thursday Feb 9th.
